About Irwin Isenstein

Irwin Isenstein is a criminal lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is a reliable professional with over 30 years of criminal law experience in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Services

Irwin Isenstein provides legal services with respect to offences under the Criminal Code of Canada, more particularly but not limited to, impaired driving, drive over 80 milligrams, refuse breath sample, dangerous driving, assault, fraud, etc.  Also, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Irwin Isenstein also represents clients regarding criminal appeals at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Irwin Isenstein provides legal services with respect to offences under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, more particularly, careless driving, stunt driving, drive under suspension, drive no insurance, etc.

History

Mr. Isenstein graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1978 and with an LL.B. in 1981.  He was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1982 and practiced primarily criminal law with two law firms in Winnipeg until 1985. After arriving in Toronto in late 1985, he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1986.  He has practiced exclusively criminal law since that time, both in association with other lawyers and as a sole practitioner.

Mr. Isenstein has appeared as counsel in all levels of Court throughout the province, including a significant number of appearances in the Northwest Region of Ontario.  He has also defended cases in the province of Alberta and Nova Scotia.  He has also appeared as a panelist in prior judicial educational seminars.  He has also been a panelist on legal educational programs at the Law Society of Upper Canada with respect to drinking and driving.  He co-chaired this program in 2008 and is the chair of this program in 2009 to 2012.  He has also appeared on several occasions on a television talk show called “Legal Briefs”, which is seen nationally on “Court T.V. Canada”.  He has also appeared as a legal commentator for CBC Newsworld and CTV News Channel.
